Frequently Asked Questions
Will I actually get my money back?
If you return back to us the product you purchased within the timing allowed in the return policy, then yes. You will. Be reasonable with us (try to follow the return policy guidelines), and we will be generous with you.
Are these patches reusable?
The Kailo™ and Flex™ will work for you as long as the gold pattern on the one side is still there. That gold is the slurry with the capacitors in it. Your Kailo™ or Flex™ can get wrinkled and crinkled but if the slurry is still there, it can still relieve your pain.
How do I use the adhesive and which side goes towards my skin?
Here are the step-by-step instructions to use our adhesives:
- Align the adhesive (print side down) with the back of your Kailo patch.
- Holding one end down, remove half of the adhesive backing as you adhere it to the Kailo patch.
- Peel the second half of the adhesive backing and finish applying it to Kailo.
- Now, you can store your Kailo for future use since the outside is not yet sticky.
- When you are ready to use your pain patch, peel off the clear adhesive backing from Kailo and apply it to your body by placing the adhesive on the white side of the patch, since removing adhesive from the gold patterned side can peal off the slurry which is the technology that helps relieve pain.
Can you wear more than one Kailo™, Flex™, and Element™ at a time?
The Kailo™, Flex™, and Element™ are made to work locally and focus on one area of pain at a time. However, you can wear more than one at a time. Almost everyone can wear 2 and many people can wear 3. We have had a few customers that wear more. There is however a definite threshold that varies from person to person, where adding one more patch decreases the effectiveness of the others. The best bet is to add one at a time, find a good placement and then as you add each additional one, evaluate if the first ones placed have decreased in their effectiveness at all.
Are the Kailo™, Flex™, and Element™ Pain Patches waterproof?
Yes, you may shower with your Kailo™, Flex™, or Element™ on. Always be aware that the adhesive may become loose when it gets wet.
Where is Kailo located?
We’re based in the heart of Silicon Slopes, Utah. Kailo is designed, engineered, and manufactured in Utah — the birthplace of television, the artificial heart, electric traffic lights, and Frisbee. We’re proud to be part of the innovative, hard-working, and kind culture of the Beehive State.
Why do your patches cost more than other pain patches?
The Kailo™ is built to last one year, the Flex™ can last up to 30 days, and the Element™ can last a lifetime, which saves you money long term. If you purchase one patch, that equals to about $8/month. It is also made out of more expensive materials with costlier processes.
What are the patches made of?
The KAILO PAIN PATCH is made with a PET thermoset plastic base, a layer of the Kailo slurry, and a protective PVC coating. The Kailo slurry is made with copper, silver, silicon, and other naturally occurring elements.
The FLEX PAIN PATCH is made with a polyethylene base and a layer of the Kailo slurry. The Kailo slurry on the Flex patch is made with copper, silver, silicon, and other naturally occurring elements.
Are there harmful materials in the patches?
No. Everything that is in the patches is considered inert and will not interact chemically with the body. The patch only interacts electrically with the body
How long can I wear the patches?
The patches can be worn all day every day as long as your skin isn’t negatively affected by limited access to the air. We recommend removing the patch for a period of time each day to allow the skin to breath. Some skin becomes sensitive over time to the adhesives used to attach the patches to the skin. Be cautious if you notice this happening and try alternative medical tapes that you can find at your pharmacy or drug-store.
Do you plug them in? Is there a battery?
Our patches don’t have batteries and they don’t plug in. The micro capacitors in the patches absorb the electrical energy of your own body so no extra power is needed.
What makes the patches work?
The Kailo Technology is made up of elements that are used in electronic applications. Some of them include copper, silver, and silicon. In our patches, microscopic particles of those elements are arranged in a special, patented way that is efficient at absorbing electrical energy. That act of absorption is what makes the patch work. This is the reason you may feel a warming sensation when the patch is in the right place on your body.
How does the patch interact with my nervous system?
Our nervous system acts and reacts by sending signals to and from different parts of the body. When you feel pain for any reason, it is because of the messages being sent along the nervous system. When those messages are created and sent, energy is produced and causes electrical reactions. The signals of your nervous system can be influenced by chemicals (like drugs) and by electric fields (like magnets or TENS units). The Kailo technology was initially created to work as an antenna and was accidentally discovered to help reduce the sensation of pain. Because of this, we theorize that the Kailo technology influences the nervous system with electric fields. When people who wear our patches feel a reduction in pain, it is because they have discovered a location on their body where the patch is influencing the electrical reactions that are causing the sensation of pain.

Can you wear a Kailo pain patch if you are pregnant?
We do not recommend that individuals who are pregnant use Kailo™.
Are there any side effects to wearing the patches?
A very small number of users (as low as 2 in 10,000) have reported minor nausea and light-headedness while using the patches
Many users of the patch can feel a slight tingling at the location of the patch or can feel the patch warm up very slightly when wearing it
Who should not use the pain patches?
If you’re taking medications, the patches do not transfer any chemicals into the body so it is impossible for them to interact with medications, however, we recommend that if there is any question about whether you are sensitive to small electrical or magnetic fields you should ask your doctor if you should use the patches. We recommend that people who wear pacemakers and people who are pregnant should not wear the patches. We also have lower success rates with people who are significantly overweight. The patches need to be located as near as possible to the nerves they are influencing.
We have customers who have cancer who use the patches for pain relief. However, we have no studies related to how patches interact during any types of irradiative treatments. Remove the patches if you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Remove the patches if you have an MRI or CT scan.
